White Day After Christmas

OK, this is considered a "snow event" in our neck of the woods. A rare occurance, so I was ready with the camera. Good thing-it was all melted by 9:00 am!

We had Christmas Eve dinner with the kids. After dinner, we tore into the presents! We then had a mean round of Texas Hold 'Em.

John, Sean and Kathryn found a little snow not too far from home. They tried their hand at shooting clay pigeons.

Kathryn's Mom Visits!

We were so lucky to get to meet Kathryn's mom, Ruth. She came all the way from Minnesota and spent a week with us in Grants Pass.

House Concert

We hosted Carl Tosten this weekend. The concert was fantastic.

Alison finally got some wakeboarding in before summer ends.

Sherar's Falls

We had a rainy day during our trip, so we spent one day driving and sight seeing. One adventure was to see Sherar's Falls; the back drop of the Jane Kirkpatrick book A Sweetness to the Soul. The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs still fish for salmon from platforms using nets. We saw a 20+ lb. salmon caught! A great day all around!

Trip to Lake Billy Chinook

I guess we weren't really roughing it! We even found a winery to visit. Chloe had to get in the picture. Smith Rock is in the background.

We had a great time camping at Lake Billy Chinook. It was so wonderful to explore parts of Oregon we'd never seen.

A huge thanks to Ralph for organizing a concert for us all. We headed up to Deer Valley to see kd lang and Lyle Lovett. Pat was in line at 5 am to get us great seats. What a great time.
